Our unique blend of services includes Household, Office & Industrial and Special Commodity moving worldwide. We manage and coordinate all services through our offices located in Kent, Washington. Presently, City Moving Systems operates 45 interstate vans in the United hauling fleet allowing us to provide personalized service for interstate relocations across the country. Since 1906, City Moving Systems, Inc. has been a local leader in providing superior corporate relocation services. As the Puget Sound Region has grown, we have grown and diversified to offer full range of transportation services required by corporate America. By expanding our services and constantly improving our systems, we strive to make it easier for our customers to facilitate their relocations. Industrial Changes: In January, 1996 the federal government deregulated local office and industrial moving, resulting in increased price competition between movers. This shift has proven to be a major factor in defining the philosophy of each moving company. Many movers use large numbers of "temporary" workers or employees not paid directly by the mover as a way to lower their labor cost (the largest direct cost to the moving company). In addition, they purchase used rental trucks with lower licensing requirements in order to use "non-CDL" qualified drivers to operate their vehicles. Although these efforts reduce visible operating costs, their productivity and crew efficiency is reduced substantially. City Moving System’s Operating Philosophy: City Moving Systems, Inc. considered all the options described above and decided against superficial cost cutting short cuts, because in each case they directly affect the service to the customer. Our crews enjoy higher pay, better health care benefits, matching 401K plans and profit sharing. Each driver is fully CDL qualified and drug tested. Every vehicle owned is air ride and custom designed for corporate relocations. The results are lower employee turnover, better-paid and qualified crewmembers, and more efficient service. Our experienced, dependable van operators take pride in safeguarding each shipment (office furniture, electronics or exhibits), with pad-wrap service to deliver the utmost protection. We use only air-ride trailers that are equipped with decking and lift gates (when needed). To stay on schedule we employ the latest technology, including computerized shipment registration, load planning and satellite tracking that enables "on-line" shipment tracking from origin to destination. We support our crews and technology with move coordinators (customer service) who have diversified backgrounds to better meet the expectations of the customer.
